The Experience

Before You Go

Wear secure water shoes

Even though shoes are provided, bring a snug pair you trust—socks or laces that won’t slip make paddling and exiting the raft safer.

Bring a small dry bag

Store your phone, keys, and a light jacket in a 3–5L dry bag to keep them safe during rapids and on the zipline platform.

Hydrate before you go

Four hours of activity at altitude and in cold water is deceptively tiring—drink water and have a carbohydrate snack beforehand.

Secure photography gear

If you plan action shots, use a wrist strap or chest harness and only photograph at guide-approved moments to avoid accidents.

Local Knowledge

Hidden Gems

  • Walk Radovljica’s old square for local pastries and quieter views of the Alps.
  • Climb the Osojnica viewpoint above Bled for a sweeping, less-crowded panorama of the lake and valley.

Wildlife

  • Common kingfisher
  • European otter

Conservation Note

Operators emphasize Leave No Trace on shore stops and follow river regulations to protect spawning fish and riparian habitats.

The Sava riverway has supported settlements since medieval times; the Bled area developed around glacial features and Alpine trade routes.

Common Questions

What is the minimum age to join?

Operators typically accept children from about 6 years old, but age and weight limits can vary—confirm at booking and note that younger children may sit with an adult.

Is transport to the rafting center included?

Meet at the Radovljica rafting center unless you pre-arrange pickup; public transport options are nearby but not guaranteed by the operator.

Are wetsuits and helmets provided?

Yes—neoprene suits, lifejackets, helmets, and river shoes are included in the price to ensure safety and warmth.

How cold is the water and what should I wear?

Spring water is brisk from snowmelt; a wetsuit and quick-dry layers are recommended. In summer the water is warmer but still refreshing—bring a base layer and towel.
