The Experience

Before You Go

Hydrate before you ride

Drink at least 500 ml of water before pickup and bring a refillable bottle—the jungle humidity makes sweating constant even on short circuits.

Wear closed-toe shoes

Sturdy sneakers or trail shoes protect feet on ATVs and rocky cenote stairs; flip-flops are not allowed.

Follow weight and size limits

Ziplines and harnesses have strict limits (max 120 kg / 265 lb, waist max ~49 in); check restrictions for drivers and riders before booking.

Leave cameras during activities

For safety and equipment protection, cameras and phones are not permitted on ATVs or ziplines—use guide photo services instead.

Local Knowledge

Hidden Gems

  • Ask guides about small limestone formations near the cenote rim where freshwater trickles create mini-pools.
  • Nearby roadside stands serve regional snacks like marquesitas and fresh coconut—perfect post-activity treats.

Wildlife

  • Great kiskadee and other tropical birds
  • Agoutis and small reptiles sunning on rocks near trails

Conservation Note

The park follows strict safety and environmental rules, including prohibitions on sunscreens with certain chemicals and limits on group sizes to reduce impact on fragile cenote ecosystems.

Cenotes were central to ancient Mayan life—sources of freshwater and ritual sites—and the Yucatán’s karst landscape determined settlement and travel patterns for centuries.
