The Experience

Before You Go

Secure loose items

Use a tether or leave loose gear in the van—phones and hats can disappear on a zipline or ATV trail.

Wear closed-toe shoes

ATVs and forest platforms need grippy footwear; sandals increase risk on both activities.

Hydrate and pace

The combo day is six hours; drink water before departure and carry a refillable bottle if allowed.

Follow the briefing

Pay attention during the safety demo—most incidents are preventable with correct braking and braking techniques.

Local Knowledge

Hidden Gems

  • Ask to stop at a roadside local fruit stall post-tour—the mango and sticky rice is often made fresh.
  • If time allows, visit a nearby hill tribe handicraft shop to see traditional weaving techniques.

Wildlife

  • Long-tailed macaque
  • Tropical hornbill

Conservation Note

Operators often follow low-impact construction and limit ground disturbance; visitors should pack out trash and follow guide directions to minimize erosion and wildlife disturbance.

Ziplining in northern Thailand expanded in the 1990s as eco-tourism grew; many operators now work with local communities to provide jobs and preserve forest access.
