Skywire at Eden Project: England’s Fastest Zipline Over the Biomes

Strapped in above the Eden Project’s biomes, the Skywire hurls you 660 metres at speeds up to 60 mph—96 metres above a reclaimed clay pit. It’s a brief, blistering perspective on Cornwall’s geology, industrial past, and the living domes below.

The Experience

Before You Go

Secure loose items

Lockers are provided—use them; anything loose at speed is a hazard and usually not permitted on the wire.

Wear grippy shoes

You’ll climb metal stairs and stand on platforms; trainers with good traction make the approach and exit safer.

Mind the weather

The ride can be canceled in high winds or heavy rain—check forecasts and book flexible timing where possible.

Hydrate and fuel up

The activity is short but requires energy to climb and brace—eat a light meal and hydrate before arrival.

Local Knowledge

Hidden Gems

  • Walk the Eden Project’s lesser-trafficked outdoor trails on the valley floor for quieter plant displays
  • Visit nearby Charlestown for historic harbour views and ship-repair cottages after your ride

Wildlife

  • Red-billed chough

Conservation Note

The Eden Project runs programs on sustainable horticulture and habitat restoration; visitors are encouraged to follow paths, minimize waste, and use provided lockers to reduce litter and disturbance.

The Eden Project reclaimed a disused kaolin clay pit and opened in 2001 as a global education and conservation site, transforming industrial scars into botanical biomes.
