The Experience

Before You Go

Complete the waiver ahead of time

Fill out the online waiver before arrival to speed check-in and get on the first shuttle quickly.

Wear secure closed-toe shoes

Sturdy trainers or light hiking shoes are required for the boardwalks and platform steps; no sandals or loose footwear.

Plan for variable weather

Tours run rain or shine—bring a waterproof layer and warm gloves in shoulder seasons and winter.

Arrive early and be ready to be weighed

Staff will weigh all participants in their tour clothes; arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for gear and briefings.

Local Knowledge

Hidden Gems

  • Boardwalk viewpoint between Line 2 and 3 with an unobstructed view toward Rainbow Mountain
  • Short side-trail near Basecamp that opens to a small wildflower meadow in summer

Wildlife

  • Black-tailed deer
  • Varied songbirds and occasionally a raven or bald eagle overhead

Conservation Note

The operator uses existing trails and platform systems to limit new disturbance; visitors are encouraged to carry out waste and stay on boardwalks to protect understory regeneration.

The slopes around Cougar Mountain sit within traditional Squamish and Lil’wat territories; the ridges have long been travel corridors and seasonal use areas for Indigenous communities.
