The Experience

Before You Go

Bring water shoes

Trails and waterfall pools are slick; closed-toe water shoes improve traction and protect toes when jumping or sliding.

License for ATV drivers

If you plan to drive an ATV you must be 18+ and carry a valid driver’s license; passengers under 18 may ride as passengers.

Sun and insect protection

Apply reef-safe sunscreen and bring a light insect repellent for shady trails between activities.

Follow guide limits

Zip line and ATV weight limits are enforced (zip 260 lbs; ATV 350 lbs); the guides will explain technique and safety—obey their instructions.

Local Knowledge

Hidden Gems

  • Quiet downstream pools off the main loop—ask a guide about less-crowded jumps
  • Short horseback detours into nearby ridgelines for panoramic views of the countryside

Wildlife

  • Tropical hummingbirds and other small passerines
  • Green iguanas sunning on rocks near the river

Conservation Note

Operators emphasize ‘leave no trace’ at the falls—avoid single-use plastics, respect vegetation, and follow guide limits to reduce erosion and disturbance.

The Damajagua falls have been a local recreational site for generations; the surrounding valleys historically hosted small farms tied to sugar and coffee production.
