The Experience

Before You Go

Arrive 20 minutes early

Check in at the harness house, complete waivers, and get fitted without feeling rushed—arriving late can shorten your on-course time.

Wear snug, closed-toe shoes

Sneakers with good tread help on swinging bridges and packed dirt approaches; sandals and open shoes are not permitted.

Hydrate before you go

Courses are physically active and often in sun; drink water beforehand and bring a refillable bottle to top up between courses.

Mind the height and health rules

Minimum height is 54 inches; those with spinal, heart, or pregnancy concerns should not participate per site guidance.

Local Knowledge

Hidden Gems

  • Walk the park’s loop path after your session for quiet oak groves and local birdlife
  • Grab fried shrimp or a beachside burger within a short drive on nearby Seabreeze Boulevard

Wildlife

  • Great blue heron
  • Eastern gray squirrel

Conservation Note

The course is designed to minimize tree damage by using professional anchors and regular inspections; visitors are asked to stay on paths to protect root zones and understory plants.

Tuscawilla Park is part of Daytona Beach’s network of municipal greenspaces; the park’s mature canopy reflects older coastal inland plant communities that predate much of modern development.

Photographer's Notes

Best times:Morning (cool light and fewer crowds), Golden hour before sunset for warm light, Overcast for even color saturation
Key viewpoints:
  • From the highest platform on Course 2 for sweeping canopy lines
  • Ground-level near the demo area to capture harness-up moments
Subjects to capture:Action shots of riders mid-zip, Close-ups of wooden platforms and cable anchor points, Park trees and understory flora
